About the Meeting

Following the success of the first edition, we are pleased to announce the 2nd ICGEB Symposium on Inflammation and Proteinopathy in ALS/FTD, which will bring together leading international experts in the field.This meeting will serve as a vibrant forum for the exchange of cutting-edge discoveries on the genetics, mechanisms, immunity, and clinical findings underlying ALS/FTD and related neurodegenerative diseases, as well as for fostering collaboration between basic scientists and clinicians working toward a better understanding and treatment of these complex neurodegenerative diseases.

The scientific program will be organised into the following thematic sections:

  • ALS/FTD Genetics and Mechanisms
  • Proteinopathy in ALS/FTD
  • Immunity in ALS/FTD
  • Clinical Studies, Biomarkers & Emerging Therapies in ALS/FTD
  • Systems and Multi-Omics Approaches in ALS/FTD and Related Brain Disorders

In addition to the scientific sessions, we invite participants to take part in our traditional “Swim and Walk for Brain Health” event at the beautiful Kostrena Beach, celebrating the role of physical activity in brain health in a relaxed and inspiring coastal setting.
